THE PROCESS

 

In gas nitriding, the surface layer of the work piece is enriched with nitrogen. The core structures remain unaffected. Combined with the alloying elements of the material, the nitrogen forms a very hard layer that can be up to 1 mm in thickness, depending on the material. Due to the purely surface hardening, the elasticity of your components is retained.

 

In many cases, the work pieces can be installed or used directly after heat treatment without reworking.
