THE PROCESS

In plasma nitriding, the surface layer of the components is enriched with nitrogen. The treatment occurs in a vacuum within an ionised gas atmosphere. Combined with the alloying elements of the material, the nitrogen forms a very hard layer that can be up to 0,5 mm in thickness, depending on the material. The core structures remain unaffected. Due to the purely surface treatment, the elasticity of your components is retained.

In many cases, the work pieces can be machined to finished dimensions and are therefore ready to be installed after plasma nitriding.
